Barack Obama managed to campaign Thursday in Indiana without ever setting foot in the state.On a day he was supposed to taking off, his campaign alerted news organizations late in the morning that he would be making an unexpected speech at Chicago's McCormick Place convention center this afternoon.

Grocery prices on the rise Thursday, April 24th, 2008 Wendy and I were shocked to hear that Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club has put a restriction on the number of bags of rice customers can buy (see “Wal-Mart limits rice purchases“). I used to work for Sam’s Club (many moons ago) and they are very capitalistic in their strategies, so for them to place a restriction on demand is unprecedented. Steve Shellhorn didn't leave negative feedback after a not entirely satisfactory transaction on the online auction site, but "neutral" feedback can harm reputation too, according to the seller's suit. Although a judge in the plaintiff's Buncombe County, N.C. home court threw out the action, "It cost Shellhorn $500 to hire an attorney. 'I'm very leery. I won't leave feedback for people anymore,' he said." (Jesse Jones, KING5 News (Seattle), Apr. 24).

WiiWare won’t be the only addition to the Nintendo Wii on May 12th, as Nintendo of America has announced that the Nintendo Channel will also be available on the same day. The service has been available since last year in Japan. The channel will allow players to read reviews of software titles, as well as review titles themselves. A week ago I noted that both Clinton campaign chair Terry McAuliffe and key Clinton congressional backer Barney Frank were talking about the race for the Democratic nomination being over in June, seemingly agreeing with the sentiment of many in the party that the primary battle should not extend all the way to the convention in the hopes of maximizing the party's ability to win back the White House in November. Beautiful warm day the other day. Stepped out in my suit and the beautiful Italian shoes Monkeyboy bought me heading out to meet Musa at London Bridge, and on to meet Rachel at the Quilliam Foundation event in The British Museum.
